DNAFORM was established in September 1998 as part of the venture business promotion program of the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research ("RIKEN"). DNAFORM's technology platform has been developed at Dr. Yoshihide Hayashizaki's laboratory at the RIKEN Omics Sciences Center, who is also the founder of DNAFORM.
DNAFORM has worked closely together with RIKEN for the development of innovative technologies for transcriptome analysis and novel applications in detection. Besides working closely together with RIKEN, DNAFORM uses its long-standing experience in the field to running its own in-house R&D program for developing proprietary technologies for innovative top quality products.
As Distributor for DNAFORM in Australia and New Zealand, GeneWorks brings access to DNAFORM’s technologies and services within easy reach of local researchers. In particular, GeneWorks is pleased to GeneWorks to offer DNAFORM services based on the Cap-Trapper technology for full length cDNA library generation, which is the basis to the world’s largest clone collections. The Cap-Trapper method gives unprecedented insight into gene regulation, gene splicing, or SNP discovery based on superior discovery and full-length rates in gene discovery and cloning projects. The combination of the Cap-Trapper method with Next-Generation Sequencing Services at GeneWorks enables so-called CAGE (Cap-Analysis-Gene-Expression) studies for unmatched solutions to genome annotation, genome-wide identification of transcription start sites, as well as expression profiling.
